Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in partnership with the North Carolina Children’s Hospital, is seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist to support the Division’s clinical and academic missions. This appointment is for a Clinical Assistant Professor, fixed term, 1.0 FTE, with compensation and responsibilities commensurate with the candidate’s experience. The faculty member will report to the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and join a multidisciplinary team providing care for children with endocrine and diabetes-related conditions. Clinical responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient care; outpatient clinics are located at UNC Children’s Specialty Clinics in Chapel Hill and Raleigh, with regional responsibilities as needed. Faculty are expected to participate in scholarly activities, including quality improvement, clinical research, and medical education.
Responsibilities Provide inpatient and outpatient care for children with diabetes and other endocrine disorders.
Participate in outpatient clinics at UNC Children’s Specialty Clinics (Chapel Hill and Raleigh) with regional coverage as needed.
Engage in scholarly activities, including quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and medical education.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including pediatric endocrinologists, nurse practitioners, a clinical pharmacist, fellows, residents, Certified Diabetes Educators, nutritionists, and nurses.
Minimum Education and Experience
The successful candidate will be MD or MD/PhD educated and board certified/eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology.
Preferred Qualifications
Academic and clinical interest in Pediatric Endocrinology.
