The Department of Surgery at the University of North Carolina is seeking applications for a full-time academic complex abdominal wall/hernia to join our Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery. There is also an opportunity to be the Director of the Hernia Center. Primary Purpose Of Organizational Unit The UNC School of Medicine has a rich tradition of excellence and care. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of North Carolinians, and others whom we serve. Position Summary The faculty member will be expected to perform both clinical and research duties, along with the academic responsibilities of an educational institution. Faculty members within the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery must possess a desire to commit to all three missions of the department and school of medicine, including the clinical, education, and research missions. Minimum Education And Experience Requirements Prospective candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Surgery. Completion of a minimally invasive/hernia fellowship is required. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience Robotic experience is preferred.
