Senior P&C Field Engineer

This role involves field testing and commissioning of protection and control systems at high voltage substations, with travel up to 80%. Responsibilities

Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations. Perform on-site protective relay testing using relay test sets (e.g., Omicron CMC 256/356, Doble F6150) and work with relays (e.g., SEL-311L, SEL-387, SEL-487, SEL-421, SEL-351S, GE L90, GE D60, among others). Provide technical and safety development support; assist Project Lead or Field Supervisor on projects. Perform Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and accurately document test results and field reports in the requested format. Read and understand electrical drawings and schematics; manage clerical tasks such as timecards, expense reports, and project reports. Required Education/Experience

Bachelor of Science in Engineering; preferably electrical, or electrical technology. Five to ten (5-10) years of professional experience in the electrical testing industry, including medium/high voltage circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, and substation protection/testing. Demonstrable expertise with transmission, generation, and distribution relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE families) and protective schemes. Relay calibration and testing skills using Omicron CMC 256/356 and Doble F6150; ability to upload settings to microprocessor relays; static and dynamic testing of microprocessor-based relays. Experience with Electrical Field Testing standards (NETA, IEEE, NFPA) and testing of 15 kV to 500 kV systems. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities. Working knowledge of computer systems, relay software, and project environment; proficiency with ProTesT, Protection Suite, ENOSERV RTS, Omicron Test Universe, AcSELerator Quickset; MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Experience managing electrical drawings; ability to meet minimum insurability standards (Motor Vehicle Report) and pass drug/alcohol tests and background checks. Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50+ lbs; willingness to travel up to 80%. Desired Education/Experience

Experience testing and troubleshooting electromechanical relays. Experience testing and commissioning high voltage substation equipment (CTs, CCVTs, PLC systems, DC systems, batteries, chargers). Experience testing IEC 61850 protocol. Compensation and Benefits
