Perform diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging procedures for clinical and research patient care populations, and participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team. Proactively support efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services. Promote a safe environment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Experience

Six months of supervised clinical experience in MRI Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree Experience in pediatrics Education

Successful completion of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved educational program Successful completion of accredited Magnetic Resonance (MR) program and eligible for MR credential via ARRT (MR) Certification Summary

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) credential in Radiography (R), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), or Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) Credential in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) required no later than 12 months post hire. Failure to complete credential within 12 months will result in separation from role, up to termination. Outpatient centers ONLY - CT credential required no later than 12 months post hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Must understand all MRI safety standards and pass the MRI department safety courses with an 80% or better score Good communication skills Excellent interpersonal and patient management skills Job Responsibilities

Operates modality-specific technical equipment related to patient care imaging, image processing, image transmission, image archiving and electronic medical records. Updates the electronic medical records through: Order Entry, Exam Scheduling, Exam Check-in, Begin and End Exams, Exam Verification, Exam Merging, and Image Rejection. Ensures accuracy of billing for radiology procedures. Provides radiologists and physicians with patient history relative to exam being performed and obtaining informed consent. Assists radiologists, as required, in the administration of contrast media and/or radioisotopes during exams. Collaborates with physicians, nurses, sedation/anesthesia personnel and all staff members to ensure a safe outcome for the patient. Participates in department and modality-specific quality improvement initiatives, including ACR accreditation. Demonstrates proficiency in performing radiologic examinations using standardized protocols to produce high-quality images and evaluates images for technical quality prior to sending to PACS for interpretation by radiologists. Demonstrates competencies that incorporate age-specific guidelines and includes family/caregiver in patient care with education appropriate for learning needs. Uses critical thinking to support decision-making, contributes to organizational goals, and adheres to hospital and departmental policies. Demonstrates service excellence behaviors. Attends and/or completes all system and department educational requirements, including mandatory CBTs and annual competencies. Adheres to all MRI safety guidelines, practices, and policies, considering potential magnetic field interactions of ferromagnetic objects in the MRI environment.
