Responsibilities
As an ER Nurse at CHI Williston Health, now part of CommonSpirit Health, you’ll be the first point of contact for our community during health emergencies.
No two days are the same in emergency nursing. You’ll be a multitasker, reacting quickly to prioritize patients based on medical necessity while providing emergency triage. You’ll collaborate with an experienced clinical team to deliver stabilizing care, including performing IV starts, Foley catheter insertions, and assisting with chest tube insertions.
To succeed, you should demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, critical thinking, and a willingness to take on additional projects like patient experience initiatives. Most importantly, you should be energetic and motivated to provide quality care while maintaining patient dignity at every step.
Perform triage by assessing patient health, monitoring continuously, detecting changes, and taking necessary actions; quickly and accurately assess care needs
Respond to life-threatening situations following nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols
Prioritize care plans based on assessed needs, anticipating required personnel, supplies, and equipment
Collaborate with providers to deliver exceptional care
Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments in accordance with policies and procedures
Educate patients and families about their care
Record all care information accurately, completely, and promptly in the proper format
Maintain order, stock, and cleanliness of all ED areas
Follow safety protocols, practicing safe work habits and compliance with regulations
Use resources appropriately, adhering to facility policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required Education and Experience Graduate of an RN nursing program Required Licensure and Certifications Licensed by the North Dakota Board of Nursing (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification with a 6-month grace period Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification with a 6-month grace period Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification with a 12-month grace period Overview CHI Williston Health, part of CommonSpirit Health, offers diverse clinical and project management opportunities.
