Millennium Space Systems, Inc.
Senior Spacecraft Power Systems Engineer
Millennium Space Systems, Inc., El Segundo, California, United States, 90245
Job Summary
As a Spacecraft Power Engineer, your systems will power Millennium satellites -- literally. Power engineers design most of the satellite electrical system, including overall electrical architecture, battery and solar array design, power conversion, and power distribution. They are involved from early conceptual design and development, during the detailed design phase, when components and satellites are being built and tested, and during on-orbit operations of the satellite. Whether it’s performing low-level electrical circuit design, analyzing the worst-case energy balance of a satellite, or troubleshooting an anomaly of an on-orbit satellite, you will have a hand in it all. This position’s internal job code is Elect Design and Analysis. Our team is currently hiring for the level range of 3-4.
Responsibilities
Perform spacecraft electrical power subsystem (EPS) design and analysis at the spacecraft level, including interfaces with other subsystems
Develop system, subsystem, and component level requirements derived from higher level requirement sets
Develop spacecraft-level power models to predict power loading and performance margins to support system design
Support battery, solar array, and electronics design
Brief design and analysis materials to program managers, customers, and sponsors
Support system-level functional and environmental testing
Provide on-orbit support during mission operations and anomaly resolution
Assist in proposal and business development efforts
Coordinate efforts with consultants when necessary
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in electrical, computer, or other relevant engineering discipline
5 or more years of experience in the design, development, analysis, implementation, testing, and/or operation of spacecraft power systems
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-reliability automotive or aerospace electronics
Experience with mitigation of space radiation effects on microelectronics
Experience in MATLAB
Experience with hardware design tools such as Altium, EAGLE, OrCad, Allegro, DxDesigner, or PADS
