Position Overview

The Continuous Improvement Engineer (CIE) is responsible for engaging, executing and delivering cost reduction, quality improvement and cycle time reduction in the areas of line performance, yields, defect, waste reduction and other opportunities. They utilize DMAIC Six-Sigma technologies, approaches, tools to isolate causes of variation and then work to apply variation and other waste reduction solutions that deliver financial and other established results.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

Investigate, experiment and implement processes to maximize productivity Provide tactical coaching on Lean Methodology and Continuous Improvement Techniques (Six Sigma) Provides manufacturing with packaging and technical engineering support to implement new products and processes into production Create and maintain an environment of continuous improvement by actively managing projects to improve overall quality Continuously challenges the status quo understood as a day-to-day activity in the section / business unit Proactive problem solving on the basis statistical analysis of corrective actions / assigned by Manufacturing Manager, QA, EHS projects Implementation of technical, technological developments based on proactive problem solving - assigned by Manufacturing Manager, QA, EHS projects Acting according to the EHS agreement guidelines Selection and development of tools and fixtures for improvements Detailed technical specifications with EHS, ABS and quality aspects for tools and fixtures

The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following

Education and Experience:

Lean Deployment experience is a plus Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations, Business Management, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and Food Science preferred Union labor management is a plus SAP experience and user knowledge preferred, but not required Experience in Lean Six Sigma, TPM and/or 5S is a plus Candidates with fluency in both Spanish and English are highly preferred Must be over 18 Years old

Competencies And Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to deal with internal and external customers and provide positive solutions. Proficient with a variety of computer applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and specialized software designed to facilitate the tracking of raw materials, finished goods and inventory. Hands-on experience preparing financial spreadsheets and extracting data from databases to prepare reports for analysis. Must have strong interpersonal skills to support all inter-related functions with strong customer service techniques, practices and principles. Strong ability to plan and organize work to meet changing priorities and deadlines. Must be able to effectively perform multiple, concurrent tasks with constant interruptions. Experience working in plant environment preferred Advanced user of Excel preferred Demonstrated ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at an intermediate level
