Overview Control Engineer 3 - Atlanta, Georgia
Job Overview Control Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining equipment used to monitor and control systems, machinery, and processes. Control Engineers work in various applications including industrial controls, cybersecurity, building automation, water/wastewater, power controls and protection, energy management, and transportation systems. They are technical experts in areas such as advanced process control, instrumentation, distributed control systems, PLCs, and SCADA systems. Control engineers use these skills to design and implement solutions to meet our customer's complex needs.
Responsibilities
Design and develop control system components, including narratives, requirements analysis, subsystem designs, specifications, and testing procedures.
Lead programming and configuration efforts for automation and SCADA applications.
Perform testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and commissioning of control systems.
Provide maintenance and troubleshooting support for existing systems.
Estimate costs, prepare proposals, and assist in bid preparation.
Manage technical tasks and coordinate with team members and clients.
Read electrical and control schematics, and perform control system startup, calibration, and testing.
Utilize tools and software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, PLC programming platforms, SCADA systems, and network tools.
Minimum Requirements
Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic and structured text.
Experience with PLCs or DDCs from platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, Tridium, ABB, Omron, KMC Controls, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or GE.
Experience in designing, programming, and troubleshooting SCADA solutions from platforms like Wonderware, Ignition, GE iFIX, Siemens WinCC, Rockwell FactoryTalk, or others listed.
Educational background with a Master's or Bachelor's degree in electrical or automation engineering and relevant years of experience.
Strong problem-solving skills and technical troubleshooting ability.
Ability to read schematics, perform system startup, calibration, and testing.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with clients and team members.
Valid driver’s license and vehicle for site visits.
