Are you a manufacturing professional who enjoys both technical analysis and business strategy? We are seeking a Quotation Engineer/Estimator to develop accurate, compliant, and competitive quotations for complex manufacturing projects. This role is ideal for someone with a background in precision CNC machining, cost estimation, and a desire to improve quoting systems and tools. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all proposals meet tight tolerances, exotic materials, and regulatory requirements – primarily in the aerospace and defense sectors. Job Duties

Review RFQs, engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, specifications, and technical documentation from clients and potential clients across multiple industries including aerospace, defense, power, rail, mining, etc. Analyze project scope and manufacturing requirements to develop detailed cost and time estimates, including labor, materials, machining, finishing, inspection and subcontract processes such as paint, coating, heat treatment, etc. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, procurement, and operations to ensure accurate and feasible quotations. Ensure quotes meet customer requirements and comply with AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and other applicable standards or flow-downs. Prepare formal quotation packages, including pricing, delivery lead time, technical clarifications, and risk assessments. Participate in pre-award customer discussions, bid reviews, and cost justification meetings. Track quote activity and maintain customer contacts and milestones. Support pricing strategies for long-term agreements, blanket orders, and high-volume or legacy programs. The Right Person/What we need from you

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent technical background. 3–5+ years of experience in a precision machining environment, preferably supporting aerospace and/or defense programs. Deep understanding of CNC machining, multi-axis milling and turning, tight tolerance work, and complex assemblies. Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, MIL-SPECs, and customer-specific requirements. Knowledge of aerospace materials (e.g., titanium, Inconel, aluminum alloys) and associated machining challenges. Familiarity with quoting tools, ERP/MRP systems, and cost estimation practices. Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills. Qualifications

Prior experience quoting for OEMs or Tier 1 aerospace/defense contractors (e.g., Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, Northrop Grumman). Working knowledge of AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, and NADCAP requirements. CAD/CAM experience (SolidWorks, Mastercam, or similar). Understanding of contract review, risk management, and compliance requirements. Desire to develop technologies (machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc.) and tools to advance the quotation process speed and accuracy. What you get from us
