A leading heavy civil construction firm based in Connecticut is seeking an
Estimator
to support its expanding Environmental Division. With a robust backlog of secured projects, the company offers long-term stability, career growth, and the opportunity to contribute to high-impact infrastructure work across the region. The firm specializes in complex civil projects including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, water and sewer lines, and related utility work. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a background in heavy civil estimating. Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for environmental and utility infrastructure projects Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate bid proposals Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and scope details Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes for completeness and competitiveness Participate in bid reviews and strategy meetings with senior leadership Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing databases Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction, preferably with water/wastewater infrastructure Strong proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, HeavyBid, or similar) Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines Solid understanding of construction means and methods, especially in utility work Compensation & Benefits
Base pay range: $110,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Medical, vision, and life insurance Vehicle allowance and gas card 401(k) with company match Opportunity to play a key role in the growth of the Environmental Division Clear path for career advancement within a stable and growing organization Senioriy level
