POSITION SPECIFICS The Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing at Penn State is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and ambitious

Instructional Designer

to facilitate growth in the college's instruction, research, and outreach missions.

As a new position on our Instructional Design team, the

Instructional Designer

will collaborate with faculty to design and develop new in-person, hybrid, and online courses, as well as maintain and revise existing courses.

This is an exciting opportunity to serve in an active role tocontribute directlytosuccessful learning outcomes of the best nursesand nurse leaders in the countryby buildingeducational programming and advancement of nursing educationthroughout the college, the commonwealth, and beyond.

This position is based at Penn State's University Park campus with a hybrid work arrangement that combines remote and regular on-campus work.

The

Instructional Designer

will work on multiple projects simultaneously, utilizing multi-tasking and creative thinking skills, to complete

this position's responsibilities, which include but are not limited to :

Design and develop resident, hybrid, and online courses.

Evaluate, review, revise, and improve existing courses and instructional resources.

Ensure digital accessibility with all courses.

Provide daily support to faculty regarding courses and other tools.

Deliver faculty development through trainings, presentations, and one-on-one sessions.

Act as an instructional design subject matter expert in meetings and consultations.

Support faculty with instructional design needs beyond course development.

Participate in project intake, needs analysis, and data collection.

Manage individual and team projects, including documentation and stakeholder communication.

Maintain calendars, manage email, and complete routine administrative tasks.

Engage in professional development and research activities; share new strategies and ideas with the team.

Represent the team on university-wide committees as assigned.

Various software will be used to complete the above responsibilities, including Canvas, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, and Evolution (the Penn State World Campus content management system).

The

Instructional Designer

will also utilize best-practices for instructional design and effective communication to meet the objectives of their projects and tasks.

Qualifications :

Proficient in using Canvas or comparable learning management systems to design, organize, and deliver instructional content

Collaboration and problem-solving skills

Ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships

Outstanding communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Ability and willingness to learn job-related software

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

If filled as Instructional Designer - Advanced Professional, this position requires: Master\'s Degree; 3+ years of relevant experience; Required Certifications: None

If filled as Instructional Designer - Intermediate Professional, this position requires: Master\'s Degree; 1+ years of relevant experience; Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $51,000.00 - $81,500.00.
