Position Summary The Advancement Communications Coordinator is responsible for leading all communications that support the Advancement efforts of Saint John Vianney Center. This position ensures consistent, compelling, and mission-driven messaging across all donor and community engagement channels. The coordinator will oversee the planning, writing, and execution of advancement communications including the Annual Fund campaign, Annual Report, grant proposals, social media content, monthly e-newsletters, donor stewardship materials, and other strategic initiatives that build strong, lasting relationships with supporters. Key Responsibilities Strategic Communications Develop and implement a comprehensive communications calendar to support advancement priorities, ensuring timely and regular outreach to donors and stakeholders. Craft clear, persuasive, and mission-centered messaging that reflects SJVC’s values, voice, and vision of the organization. Partner with the Director of Mission Advancement and leadership team to align communications with fundraising goals and institutional priorities. Writing & Content Development Lead the writing, editing, and production of all advancement-related communications, including:

Annual Fund materials (letters, emails, digital campaigns) Annual Report content and design coordination Donor stewardship pieces (thank-you letters, impact stories, recognition pieces) Monthly e-newsletter and regular email updates Social media campaigns and content calendars

Grant Writing & Management Serve as the point person for all grant writing efforts, ensuring compelling proposals that align with organizational priorities and funder interests. Research new funding opportunities and maintain a grants calendar of submission and reporting deadlines. Collaborate with program staff to gather data, stories, and outcomes for proposals and reports. Ensure timely submission of grant applications and stewardship reports. Donor Engagement & Stewardship Create communication strategies that deepen donor relationships and highlight impact. Ensure consistency of donor recognition messaging across all platforms. Support events and campaigns with targeted promotional materials and follow-up communications. Digital & Social Media Plan, schedule, and manage social media content to grow awareness of the organization’s mission and philanthropic needs. Monitor analytics to refine strategies and improve engagement. Ensure integration of social and digital media with overall advancement strategy. Collaboration & Project Management Work closely with advancement staff, program leaders, and external vendors (designers, printers, etc.) to deliver high-quality materials on time and within budget. Maintain brand consistency across all channels. Manage a library of donor communication assets, including templates, stories, photos, and videos. Qualifications A mature understanding of the Catholic faith and the human condition and the ability to maintain confidentiality. An entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to help build a national Advancement Office. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related field. 3–5 years of experience in communications, preferably in advancement, development, or nonprofit fundraising. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and voice for diverse audiences. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Proficiency with email marketing tools, social media platforms, and basic graphic design platforms (Adobe Creative Suite a plus). Proven experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel and Power Point). Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Experience with donor databases and CRM systems a plus. Passion for the mission of Saint John Vianney Center and commitment to advancing its impact.
