PR & Communications Coordinator
is an essential and dynamic member of the league's communications team, directly contributing to the
National Women's Soccer League's (NWSL) growing voice and market visibility
. This role is responsible for
executing and streamlining
daily communications across media, digital, and internal platforms. The Coordinator is critical in ensuring
seamless internal and external communication flow
, providing
essential support
to players, clubs, executives, and partners to amplify the NWSL's narrative and mission. What You Will Own & Drive Communications Operations Manage
and
execute
day-to-day communications and Public Relations (PR) support across the entire department. Oversee
departmental workflows,
track
critical deadlines, and
ensure
timely, accurate delivery of all materials to internal and external stakeholders. Maintain
and
update
essential shared resources, including comprehensive media lists, key talking points, and current press kits/materials. Media Relations & Publicity Draft
,
edit
, and
distribute
high-quality press releases, media advisories, and official league statements. Coordinate
media credentialing and
manage
all logistics for NWSL matches, playoff events, and key league gatherings. Monitor
,
track
, and
analyze
league media coverage;
generate
daily and weekly media intelligence reports for executive leadership and internal stakeholders. Content & Messaging Strategy Develop
compelling content, including talking points, Q&As, fact sheets, and bios for players, executives, and league spokespeople. Collaborate
closely with the Digital and Social teams to
integrate
league narratives and
amplify
earned media coverage across all platforms. Contribute
to key internal communications, including newsletters and website updates, ensuring alignment with league messaging. Events & Matchday Execution Execute
on-site media operations for matches and events, including press box management, mixed zone facilitation, and securing/coordinating all media interviews. Provide
hands-on logistical support to the communications staff, managing run-of-show and accommodating media-specific needs. Brand Integrity & Reputation Management Monitor
the media landscape for emerging industry trends, potential issues, and risks that could impact the league's public reputation. Contribute
to crisis communications efforts as needed. Ensure
absolute
consistency
and
adherence
to the league's core messaging across all internal initiatives and partner touchpoints. What You Will Bring Core Qualifications B.A./B.S. Degree
in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a closely related field. 1–3 years of professional experience
in communications, public relations, or media relations; experience within the
sports or entertainment industry
is strongly preferred. Exceptional proficiency
in written and verbal communication, editing, and content creation, coupled with a
rigorous attention to detail
and organizational excellence. Demonstrated ability to
thrive
as a proactive and effective contributor in a highly collaborative, team-based environment. Proven
flexibility and adaptability
to support a dynamic league schedule, including consistent availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required. Passion
for soccer, women's sports, and the mission of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Preferred Qualifications Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills,
with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and confidently to both internal and external audiences. Proactive and highly organized approach
to workflow management, ensuring seamless execution of team priorities and departmental goals. Resourceful, solutions-oriented mindset
demonstrated by strong initiative, problem-solving abilities, and robust follow-through. Familiarity with industry-standard
media monitoring and press distribution platforms Foundational ability in
basic design, photo, or video editing
