General Position Scope: Responsible for the management of a lending production team in the Commercial Real Estate line of business. This includes the generation, approval and servicing of loans within acceptable loan risk standards while adhering to bank policy and regulations. Also, responsible for the generation of deposit transactions necessary to accommodate loan fundings. Responsibilities
Solicit, develop, service and maintain a commercial real estate loan portfolio that exceeds $150MM and includes a variety of the bank’s larger and more complex commercial real estate credits. Maintain an appropriate level of deposits relative to the loan transactions provided to the borrowers within the portfolio. Offer consultive guidance and support to CRE lending and production staff on your team. Evaluate and underwrite credit data, cash flow, financial statements, and collateral to determine the credit worthiness of applicants. Structure the loan terms and conditions within the bank’s policy and lending guidelines. Recommending approval or decline of loans within the established bank guidelines and informing the applicant of the decision. Review loan renewal and modification requests to ensure continued credit worthiness of the applicant and timely payment of the loans within the portfolio. Present loan request memorandums to the appropriate level for approval. Responsible for closing the loan which includes reviewing the loan documents for accuracy, securing the proper signatures on all documents, approving funding of the loan, and evaluating collateral pledged to existing and prospective loans. Maintaining proper due diligence in file for construction loans throughout the process, while making sure the loan balance outstanding is commensurate with the level of completion. Properly monitoring loans during the life of the loan which includes maintaining current financial information, testing loan covenants, obtaining current insurance and other required documentation to protect our collateral position, and any other action as required depending on the loan type. Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the life of the loan, resolving problems as they arise. Monitor the past due list to ensure loans are paid on a timely basis. Work with Special Assets personnel on problem credits to work toward a positive resolution in a timely manner. Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Also, provide input and recommendations to management on product improvement or process changes. Stay informed on local, regional, and national market and economic data that may affect credits under management or requests under consideration. Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions, including but not limited to applicable laws and regulations, internal controls, operational procedures, risk management policies and security protocols. Participates in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program. Make referrals to other banking centers and departments as opportunities present themselves. Performs other duties as requested. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required in real estate, business, finance, or related field. Minimum 7 years’ banking or finance experience and loan origination experience. Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing. General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook. Must possess attention to detail. Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills. Work outside of regular business hours, as deemed necessary.
