Job Summary
The Bulletin Editor is responsible for producing accurate, visually appealing, and timely bulletins or newsletters that inform and engage the organization’s audience. Working closely with leadership and staff, the editor collects, edits, and formats content, manages deadlines, and ensures that each bulletin reflects the tone and mission of the organization. This role requires attention to detail, excellent writing and editing skills, and a strong sense of organization and time management. Job Responsibilities
Collect, review, and organize content from staff, departments, and community members for inclusion in weekly or monthly bulletins Write, edit, and proofread announcements, articles, and event listings for clarity, accuracy, and tone Design and format the bulletin using approved templates or software Ensure timely distribution of the bulletin (print and/or digital), meeting all weekly or monthly deadlines Coordinate with printers or manage in-house printing and folding, if applicable Post bulletins to the organization’s website, email system, or social media as needed Maintain a calendar of upcoming events, submission deadlines, and content schedules Archive past bulletins and maintain organized digital files Respond to content inquiries or submission requests in a timely and professional manner Attend occasional staff or planning meetings as requested Job Requirements
Prior experience in editing, publishing, graphic design, or communications preferred Experience with church, nonprofit, or school bulletins is a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with publishing or design software (e.g., Microsoft Publisher, Canva, Adobe InDesign, or Google Docs) Excellent proofreading and editing abilities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage deadlines and work independently The Archdiocese of St. Louis is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
