Overview The primary role of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Program Coordinator is coordination of care for Bariatric surgery patients, management of achieving and maintaining Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) accreditation. Manages special projects/programs for Patient Care Services. Ensures that the redesign, planning, and implementation processes are developed, initiated, and supported to allow the hospital to achieve its financial, quality, and service goals while supporting its associates. Ensures that all processes are consistent with the hospital\'s vision and values.

Responsibilities

Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.

Ensures that all special project initiatives support the hospital\'s strategic goals and are designed and implemented to support associates through changes.

Ensures that the patient care managers and staff coordinate and integrate the work of all redesign and implementation teams. Supports directors, managers and staff through the development and implementation of education projects and initiatives. Maintains a master calendar within the organization that encompasses all professional development and education initiatives.

Maintains effective communication with hospital executives, senior management, physicians, and leadership group regarding special projects. Provides timely information regarding the progress of projects and initiatives. Maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, other service areas, and departments.

Manages procurement activities including vendor selection, product implementation, and evaluation. Establishes and maintains contractual agreements.

Oversees the development and implementation of necessary communication plans related to special projects.

Participates in and/or leads multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement initiatives.

Works with Finance to monitor and report the budget impact of any redesign recommendations. Complies with and ensures adherence to all data collection, entry and reporting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Education : Bachelor\'s degree in a healthcare related field as RN or Dietician required

Experience : 5-7 years healthcare management, program planning or program development experience required and 5-7 years progressive supervisory experience required

Licenses and Certifications : Licensed or registered healthcare professional as an RN or Dietician, in the state of Maryland required

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities :

Proven leadership skills.

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple, complex projects simultaneously.

Ability to make independent decisions consistent with department and hospital protocols, standards of care, policies, and procedures.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Basic computer skills preferred.

Experience working with Excel, Access, and Word is required.

This position has a hiring range of $72,758 - $130,041
