Sterile Processing Manager
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States Job ID: P-102584 Schedule: Full Time, 7:00am–3:30pm Overview
We are hiring a Sterile Processing Department Manager to join our team! Responsibilities
Direct supervision and responsibility for activities of the department 24/7 in every aspect and all areas of Sterile Processing. Direct and monitor SPD Educator, Chief SPD Techs, Shift Leaders, SPD Techs and SPD Perioperative Associates to meet departmental goals to provide sterile instruments and supplies efficiently, accurately and professionally. Monitor decontamination, equipment cleaning, sterilization, instrument assembly and case cart picking; verify proper function of sterilization equipment and validate sterilization records and biological testing. Coordinate all case cart activities to support the case cart system. Communicate with leadership in areas serviced; troubleshoot daily activity and OR case changes to provide efficient and quality customer service. Plan, evaluate and prioritize workflow; assign work based on policy/procedure, OR activity, patient census and direction from department director. Work closely with physicians and other departments, including scheduling, materials management, and infection prevention. Report to the RN Director of Perioperative Services and VP of Perioperative Services. Minimum Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Sterile Processing Program. Minimum of five years of service as a certified sterile processing technician. Certification as a CST, CSPDT, or CRCST, per NBSTSA, CBSPD, or IAHCSMM standards. Preferred Education: Bachelor\'s Degree. Certification in Healthcare Leadership (CHL) administered by IAHCSMM (preferred). Active membership in a local or national chapter of IAHCSMM or AST (preferred).
