Location and Education
Location:
This position will be located in our credit office in Dimmit, Texas. Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Ag Economics or related field, or experience deemed equivalent by Capital Farm Credit.
Job Requirements
Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience, or other experience that translates to lending experience as determined at the discretion of Capital Farm Credit. Registration as a Mortgage Loan Officer under the National Mortgage Licensing System is required.
Job Summary
Manages and maintains current relationships and seeks new accounts with the ability to manage large and complex accounts and complex credit evaluation. Recommends or approves loans in the assigned territory within the limits of specific delegated authority. Develops and manages loan portfolios including loan originations in the trade area served by the association. Develops and implements sales strategies to increase client satisfaction and loan portfolio growth, including strategies for high profile/complex customers and prospects. Assists in training less senior relationship managers/credit personnel. Has considerable latitude for decision making; works under minimum supervision.
Functions
Develops new business in the assigned office in addition to servicing existing commercial and real estate customers. Reviews loan analysis within the guidelines and policies of the association, processes and approves loan requests within delegated authority and in accordance with Association guidelines. Prepares and submits loan requests that exceed delegated lending authority for management level review, and collaborates with credit analysts on loans exceeding delegated authority. Establishes business relationships with agricultural producers, rural landowners and business leaders in the community to expand lending opportunities. Represents the association at local and regional activities and promotes the association by maintaining good public and member relations. Makes and services leases, loans for operating equipment and real estate, and related services such as cash management and crop insurance within delegated authority and policies. Determines financing eligibility, verifies assets and liabilities, secures background and credit history, and ensures proper lien perfection on collateral. Develops proficiency in complex credit analyses and maintains current financial information on borrowers/guarantors. Performs loan servicing tasks and ensures proper risk ratings and compliance with credit administration practices. Assists with collections and ensures loan covenants are maintained; may assist with title examination and loan closing processes as required. May perform appraisals, inspections and collateral evaluations in compliance with standards; may assist with public relations functions.
Preferred Skills
Ability to engage people as a representative of the Association to build goodwill and rapport. Ability to operate in fast-paced, competitive environments with high-profile/complex customers. General knowledge of accounting/financial systems and principles. Strong oral and written communication skills. Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills and ability to perform accounting/financial analyses under moderate supervision.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience as deemed by Capital Farm Credit. Experience: Five to seven years in banking or related agricultural lending; Mortgage Loan Officer registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System.
