Commercial Senior Credit Officer

Citizens . We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Senior Credit Officer to cover the West Region for the organization. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring line of business expertise, strong credit skills, decisive decision making and strong interpersonal skills. The role supports growth of our California Middle Market business and our Corporate Banking business in the West region. Experience analyzing and structuring transactions in the Technology and Film & Entertainment sectors is a plus but not required. Responsibilities
Partner with 1st line market leadership and relationship managers to establish and maintain prudent risk appetite and facilitate growth within these parameters. Engage in client-facing due diligence and assist business partners with originating and onboarding new credit relationships. Identify risk and proactively collaborate with coverage, product and portfolio teams on customer selection and creating protective, balanced credit structures to maintain portfolio quality and protect the Bank\'s balance sheet. Review, approve, decline or recommend to appropriate higher authority credit opportunities for new originations, renewals or modifications of existing loans. Provide oversight of the portfolio to ensure satisfactory loan quality and early identification of potential problem credits, communicating with executive risk management and working with loan workout specialists as necessary to minimize losses. Provide leadership related to credit decisions and ongoing portfolio management aligned with portfolio objectives, credit policies, and administrative procedures. Ensure credit delivery activities are completed in a timely, efficient, and prudent manner while enabling delivery of products and services that involve credit exposure. Model and disseminate the bank\'s credit culture and risk appetite; follow defined processes, procedures and credit policies to accomplish objectives. Qualifications
Significant experience in a Wholesale Credit or Commercial Lending role within a large, complex bank environment. Experience lending in syndicated structures, managing credits with complex capital structures, and partnering with multiple commercial banking product areas to allocate capital responsibly across a credit relationship. Strong administrative, communication/interpersonal and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and act independently in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to balance risk and return, promoting responsible expansion of credit relationships while safeguarding the Bank\'s balance sheet. Education
Bachelor\'s degree required, preferably in a financially oriented major. Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $250,000- $275,000 per year, with an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay depends on location, skills and experience.
