This position supports classroom teachers to maintain a positive learning environment and provide instructional assistance as directed. Qualifications

Applicants must possess an Associate’s or higher degree; the completion of 60 credit hours of study towards a degree program at an accredited institution of higher education; or a passing score on the Praxis Para Pro or WorkKeys exams or an equivalent assessment. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an elementary school setting is highly desired. Responsibilities

Under the direction of the classroom teacher, help to maintain and oversee a positive learning environment. Assist the teacher in implementing appropriate daily learning experiences that are congruent with the approved practices for the grade level and/or class composition and aligned with the instructional mission of the school and district. Collaborate with the teacher to inform curricular planning, classroom environment issues, and instructional practices. Assist the teacher in providing any unique and/or special accommodations required for students. Help the teacher promote a safe, secure, healthy learning environment. Work consistently in a cooperative and respectful manner with others. Provide individualized instruction to identified students and small groups who are experiencing difficulty in reading and mathematics. Plan instructional activities that meet students’ individual needs, interests, and abilities in reading and mathematics. Advise teachers about students’ progress throughout the course of intervention. Help retrieve performance data of students being served to analyze intervention effectiveness and determine progress. Maintain and oversee a positive learning environment under the direction of a properly-certified teacher. Perform all other duties as assigned. Evaluation
