Qualifications Nature & Purpose of Position:
The Social Media Ambassador is responsible for representing the personality and voice of SHSU Campus Recreation through social media platforms. This person is aware of what is happening in our areas and engages by creating content and socializing with students.
Self-starter who works well independently with little supervision
Strong customer service/people skills/extroverted
Strong knowledge of Campus Recreation is preferred
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, co-workers and constituents
Ability to organize and handle multiple projects at one time
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Strong desire to see the success of Campus Recreation’s programs and facilities
Interest in marketing, public relations and advertising
Responsibilities
Experience using social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Interest in social media trending topics.
Manage social media platforms using a marketing plan and set guidelines for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other media platforms
Coordinate and report to Marketing Supervisor
Serve as a brand ambassador for tabling, outreach and special events
Willing to be in social settings and comfortable talking to students on campus to create content
Willing and able to attend events outside of work hours, including but not limited to afternoons and evenings to capture content
Work with a calendar to ensure posts follow marketing plan guidelines
Stay up-to-date on new social media tools, best practices and what other agencies are doing
Bring creative ideas to a team environment
Attend trainings, in-service and monthly staff meetings
Adhere to all department guidelines and policies
Other duties as assigned
