The Alumni Communications Specialist II (ACS-II) plays a key role on the Office of Alumni Affairs team, focusing on increasing alumni outreach and engagement with the University. Responsible for plans and programs that foster goodwill and positive public relations between the University and alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Hampton. Leads long-term digital marketing campaigns and spearheads short-term advertising and marketing solutions. Brings experience in content development, art direction and social media to expand brand reach locally while increasing brand loyalty and awareness. Collaborates with the alumni team, supporting teams (e.g., programmers), and vendors to launch campaigns on time and on budget. Cultivates relationships with students, administration, and NHAA membership to raise visibility of the Office of Alumni Affairs and the University. Digital Media Management: The ACS-II oversees key internal and external communication tools as the primary communications representative for the Office of Alumni Affairs. Serves as the chief content strategist for this area, advancing the Office and University reputation and the stories of Hampton alumni through creative and messaging aligned with the university brand and strategic initiatives. Examples of Duties

Creates, maintains, and enhances relationships between the alumni and the University Assists with alumni events locally and nationally Assists with annual events such as Alumni Weekend, Family Weekend, assembly meetings and class reunions Develops reports to support alumni planning and event implementation Attends and supports NHAA, Alumni Affairs, and Office of Advancement and External Engagement events Maintains office records and ensures adherence to policies and timelines Works within the fiscal budget and as an effective team member Builds strategy and tactics for programming and events within the Office of Alumni Affairs, the Office of Advancement and the University Develops and manages digital marketing campaigns across various platforms, including SEO/SEM, email, social media, and display advertising Designs, builds and maintains social media presence on departmental platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Sprout Social, WordPress, iModules, University Tickets) Manages internal graphic design projects (Canva, Adobe Express, Photoshop) Measures campaign performance and reports against ROI and KPIs Identifies trends and optimizes spend and performance Develops growth strategies and collaborates with technology teams on roadmaps Plans and executes digital marketing campaigns and communicates results with stakeholders Supports planning and execution of diverse programming and events Performs other related duties for Alumni Affairs and Advancement as assigned Typical Qualifications

BS/MS degree in communications, marketing or a related field Demonstrated experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing databases, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns Highly creative with experience identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage and inform Experience optimizing landing pages and user funnels Supplemental Information
