Responsibilities The Role
As a passionate communicator, you will be responsible for supporting the execution of communications campaigns for Ascension Indiana that strengthen Ascension’s brand and reputation and support business priorities in the market. You will have an opportunity to assist the team in driving a positive reputation across the market, in support of our goal to provide quality care to the citizens of Indiana. You will partner with our internal communications and marketing managers or specialists in Indiana and support our market leaders, helping to drive engaging and action-oriented internal messaging. You are detail oriented, flexible and comfortable delivering results across a matrixed organization.
Responsibilities:
Provide support to help the team execute against a cohesive external communications strategy and plan for Indiana that improves our market reputation, in coordination with other enterprise and local communication teams
Create a robust and proactive story pipeline for Ascension Indiana’s Central and North regions that support our local business objectives and our brand
Foster and own relationships with service line leaders and operations teams
Track and report coverage of external communications efforts
Help to access, deliver and store toolkits, messaging documents, creative content, channel management and strategic planning from our enterprise communications teams and customize them as appropriate for the Indiana market
Ensure that communications reflect the Mission, Vision and Values of Ascension as a healing ministry of the Catholic Church
Maintain flexible availability and responsiveness both during and outside of normal work hours as necessary
Complexity of Work
Requires excellent writing and program management skills.
Ideally the candidate will also have familiarity with the evolving healthcare market, Ascension’s history and current initiatives, and communications practices and standards.
Must be able to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Work Experience
Five to seven years in an external communications role, ideally with experience working in a healthcare provider system or similar services organization
Experience executing against external communications plans and campaigns
Familiarity with local issues management
Adept at the rapid development of content in support of local business, market and organizational communications needs
Experience working against clearly outlined KPIs and supporting the reporting of results to multiple teams
Requirements Education:
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
