Organizational Description: Forging Ahead Inc. is a registered not-for-profit charity that helps veterans and first responders dealing with PTSD through artistic blacksmithing. Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer Opportunity ID: 5999 Description of Duties: Forging Ahead Inc. is a veteran-founded Canadian charity dedicated to supporting veterans and first responders through therapeutic blacksmithing and community initiatives. We are seeking a volunteer Social Media Content Creator to manage and grow our online presence. Duties include:
Creating engaging content (posts, reels, stories, and graphics) for social media platforms.
Developing and executing strategies to expand our audience and increase engagement.
Showcasing our classes, events, and community impact.
Collaborating with our Board and team to align content with our mission and goals.
Potential to work alongside a local production company and gain experience in
film and documentary projects
Skills Required:
Strong communication and writing skills.
Creativity in developing compelling social media content.
Familiarity with platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Experience with Canva, Photoshop, or video editing software (an asset).
Skills Gained/Related Careers:
Digital marketing and communications.
Content creation and social media management.
Non-profit communications experience.
Networking with veterans, first responders, and community partners.
Exposure to the
film and documentary industry
(tentative, through potential partnerships).
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+ Time Commitment: Daytime , Evening , Weekend ,Micro Volunteering X , Remote Volunteering , Flexible Hours We are very easy to work with and very flexible. as long as the charity message is not lost.
