Overview
West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Guest Costume Designer for the production of “A Christmas Carol.” This is a seasonal, temporary position and will be paid a small stipend. The Guest Costume Designer will develop the book of every costume needed for the performance, including attending production meetings, meeting with the director about vision, overseeing measurements and fittings, and managing costumes not already in stock.
Responsibilities
Collaborating with the director to determine concept and approach.
Communicating with directors about costume designs to determine colors or moods for the project.
Attend regular meetings, auditions, and rehearsals. Cast the production.
Attend weekend work calls.
Recruit students to join theater.
Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
Knowledge of all aspects of a professional theatrical program.
Knowledge of costume design and different techniques for designing.
A degree in Theater or related field preferred.
