JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description: POSITION DESCRIPTION Position: Community Outreach and Social Media Manager Status: Full Time, hourly non exempt Reports to: Marketing and Communications Manager Position Summary: This position is responsible for the marketing and outreach efforts of Independence First through content creation, graphic design, website maintenance, and social media engagement. Responsibilities include developing flyers and digital materials, updating and maintaining the agency's website and social platforms, assisting with the creation of newsletters and campaigns, producing and editing photo and video content, and leading community outreach activities. The position promotes the agency's services and events to increase community awareness and engagement. Position Hours: This is a full-time position, typically requiring 40 hours per week. The position is based at the Independence First main office and may involve occasional travel within the agency's service area.

Essential Functions

Maintain and regularly update the Independence First website and social media platforms with engaging, accurate, accessible, and mission-aligned content in accordance with the marketing strategy.

Monitor and respond to public comments, private messages and agency mentions on social media platforms to foster positive community engagement.

Support marketing and communications efforts for agency events and campaigns, including sponsor recognition, material preparation, and distribution of promotional content.

Assist in the production of publications, such as the quarterly newsletter, annual report, and e-newsletters. This includes writing, editing, gathering photos, and coordinating with internal staff.

Contribute to digital marketing efforts, including tracking digital engagement, applying basic SEO principles, and maintaining a consistent brand voice across platforms including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Yelp, and Google.

Capture and share agency stories and events by creating written content, taking photos or videos, and posting to digital platforms in coordination with the Marketing and Communications Manager.

Support the agency blog by coordinating content, posting approved materials, and maintaining a calendar of timely, relevant topics.

Update online event listings and ensure accurate, timely information is published on agency platforms.

Plan and conduct community outreach initiatives to promote Independence First's programs and services, including independent living services, peer support, assistive technology, transition, advocacy, and personal care assistance. Represent the agency at outreach events, community fairs, and related activities.
