Overview
Trex Company is seeking an enthusiastic storyteller to support and execute internal communications functions companywide. This role collaborates with departments across the organization to produce engaging content, maintain communication channels, and positively drive employee engagement through compelling storytelling that reflects Trex’s mission. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Support the development and execution of the Company’s internal communications strategy. Deliver clear, consistent messaging about key initiatives and company news and updates across internal channels. Collaborate with all departments to assist with their communications needs. Assist with collecting information for and crafting compelling content for internal and external channels that showcases Trex’s impact, mission, and culture. Content will include written articles, human interest stories, social media posts, graphics, and photos. Assist with employee programs, events, and activities to positively drive employee engagement. Other duties as assigned. Job Location Winchester, Virginia, United States Position Type Full-Time/Regular Experience We are looking for someone with 0-3 years of relevant experience in content development, storytelling, news writing, or a related role. A bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, or similar is preferred. The candidate should have demonstrated experience with promoting content through multiple internal and external channels including social media, and familiarity with collaborative project management platforms like Asana and Trello, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.). The ideal candidate will have: 0-3 years or relevant experience in content development, storytelling, news writing, or a related role. Experience with photography with DSLR cameras and photo editing or willingness to learn. Ability to balance multiple time-sensitive priorities and deadlines. Strong judgment for appropriate tone and messaging in line with the company brand voice and communications strategy. Proven ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and engaging narratives. A creative eye for sleek, eye-catching design of print and digital graphics including fliers, posters, and digital slides. Preferred Skills & Qualifications: Experience with videography and understanding of video editing principles. Previous journalism or news writing experience. Salary Base Salary Range: $47,000 - $55,000 annually. The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual/sales bonus, in addition to the base salary. At Trex, individual base salaries are determined based on various factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
