Overview
Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee. This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.

HOURS OF WORK HOURS OF WORK : Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 5:00pm

Eligibility : To be considered for employment, applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship, including Student Visas and Employment Visas, under any circumstances.
Under the direct supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director, this position manages the Administrative Division and oversees the department’s financial and business operations. Develop, monitors, and implements department operating and capital budgets, conducting strategic planning, and implementing year-round services. The role involves developing and implementing department program policies and procedures to ensure efficient division operations, as well as supervising staff through scheduling, work assignments, hiring, training, evaluation, and disciplinary actions. Assists with the development of department staffing levels. It ensures compliance with labor contracts, the Municipality of Anchorage’s Personnel Rules and Regulations, and federal and state OSHA requirements. Additionally, this position assists the Director in the planning, development, and execution of departmental services and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or equivalent
and
eight ( 8 ) years of experience in the field related to the position.
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Purchasing, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline
and
six ( 6 ) years of experience in the field related to the position.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Purchasing, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline
and
four ( 4 ) years of experience in the field related to the position.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Purchasing, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline
and
two ( 2 ) years of experience in the field related to the position.

If selected for hire, the appointment in this position will be conditional based upon a satisfactory background check. A background check encompasses criminal history, verifying education, and verifying dates of employment.
All required certifications and licenses must remain current for the duration of employment.
Preferences and Veterans Military Service Interview Preference: Veterans or those eligible for interview preference as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D must attach to the application a copy of their DD Form 214, DD Form 256, NGB Form 22, or a letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs recognizing the person as a veteran. The attached documentation must show an honorable discharge or general (under honorable conditions) discharge. The minimum qualifications of the position must be met for preference consideration. Individuals currently serving as a member in good standing in the National Guard or the organized military reserves who wish to be considered for interview preference must attach proof of current service to the application.
