The Festival Editor is charged with editing, fact-checking, and proofreading Sundance Film Festival print and digital publications. Working closely under the direction of the Festival Manager, Editing, the Editor will be required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet deadlines and respond to on-call needs. A total of three (3) roles are available, two (2) of which are fully remote and one (1) will be conducted remotely out of any of our operating states, until the department comes together in Park City, UT in January to support the in-person elements of the Festival. These temporary positions work full time from Monday, November 10, 2025, through either Wednesday, January 28, 2026, or Sunday, February 1, 2026. Responsibilities

Editing, fact-checking, and proofreading the Festival Program Guide, website content, and additional publications. Enforcing house style to ensure consistency across Festival publications. Collaborating with writers, assisting the Festival Manager, Editing, by providing second reviews, and resolving conflicting opinions to make sound editorial decisions. Working with the Festival Manager, Editing, and the year-round Editorial team to support other tasks related to the editing process, on-site or remotely. Writing original blog content leading up to the Festival connected to the upcoming film slate. Generating additional written content during the Festival as needed and assigned. Qualifications

Legal authorization to work in the United States. 2 years of editing experience. Strong skills in writing, grammar, usage, spelling, and The Associated Press Stylebook. Outstanding communication skills to work effectively with a wide variety of people, including the ability to negotiate edits in a tactful manner and respond gracefully to suggestions, corrections, and feedback. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and make decisions in a timely manner to meet deadlines. You will receive an hourly pay of $20.32.
