Job Description The Bilingual News and Sports Editor/Producer will be part of the Digital Innovation Team, responsible for writing, editing, and producing content for NBC Owned Stations Group and Regional Sports Networks. The role involves creating sports and news content, from breaking news to explainers and lifestyle series, across multiple platforms. The editor/producer will execute sponsored sports content and collaborate with local NBC and Telemundo stations nationwide.
Ideal candidates will be creative, able to produce impactful videos for social audiences, and comfortable managing multiple projects from pitch to publication. The role involves working on diverse content, including breaking news videos, podcasts, and storytelling projects, with flexibility to pitch and develop new stories and series. Coverage includes major sports and daily news content.
Requirements include bilingual storytelling in English and Spanish, a passion for sports, current news awareness, editing skills, and experience with digital video production. The candidate should be a self-starter, innovative, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines, including nights and weekends. The position is based in Los Angeles.
Qualifications
3-4 years of experience producing digital videos
Deep knowledge of all sports
Proficiency in editing with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and working with Adobe Essential Graphics (.mogrt)
Strong editorial judgment for digital storytelling
Ability to shoot with DSLR/cinema cameras, and handle lighting and audio equipment
Familiarity with social media platforms and YouTube content creation
Excellent communication skills
Self-motivated and proactive
Experience with complex CMS systems is a plus
Willing to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Willing to work in Los Angeles
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Additional Requirements
Fluent in English and Spanish, with writing ability in both languages
Knowledge of major sports
Ability to shoot, write, pitch, produce, and edit videos
Experience working with talent and conducting interviews
Ability to pitch and develop new series and concepts
Understanding of lighting and audio for video production
Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively
Skill in researching stories, data visualization, and creating engaging graphics
Ability to develop video concepts for local stations and optimize headlines/text for engagement
Collaborate with national and local teams on content execution
Additional Information This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other perks. Salary range: $70,000-$90,000.
