Description Job Summary: The Communications Associate is a versatile creative who supports both the Comms team through high-quality design and photography. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced ministry environment, has a sharp eye for visual storytelling, and can pivot seamlessly between digital design and dynamic photography. This position plays a key role in bringing unity and excellence to our church’s visual brand—capturing moments that matter while creating assets that communicate clearly and beautifully. This role will be instrumental in executing our social media strategy, serving as the point person for creating, editing, and scheduling posts in alignment with the direction provided by the Communications Directors. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Design Responsibilities: Design print and digital assets for ministries, events, and sermon series Assist in maintaining visual brand consistency across platforms and campuses. Contribute to signage, social graphics, promotional materials, and internal documents. Participate in brainstorms and creative planning meetings. Collaborate with other designers to maintain a high standard of design excellence. Photography Responsibilities: Photograph services, events, baptisms, and ministry moments across all campuses. Edit and organize photos for internal use and external promotion. Help maintain our photo archive (SmugMug). Collaborate with the media team to ensure cohesive visual storytelling. Occasionally assist in directing volunteer photographers and supporting shoots. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom) Familiarity and general understanding of major social media platforms Strong portfolio showcasing both design work and photography. Understanding of brand guidelines and visual consistency Comfortable shooting in varied lighting environments (indoor worship, outdoor events, etc.) Excellent time management and communication skills Teachable, collaborative, and proactive Spiritually grounded and aligned with the values and mission of our church. Reliable, teachable, and willing to go the extra mile to support the team. Humble, kind, and eager to serve people and glorify God. Collaborative spirit and positive attitude, even in high-paced environments Education and Experience: 2+ years of experience in both graphic design and photography Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move camera equipment as needed. Ability to work at a computer for extended periods. Occasional travel to church events for photography.
