Overview
Communications Coordinator – Develops and coordinates district-wide communications strategies that elevate engagement, build trust, and reinforce the district’s vision and goals. Oversees campaign planning and execution across multiple platforms, and provides guidance on messaging tone, timing, and impact.
Responsibilities
Great People (Talent Management): Plan and execute employee engagement events such as team-building activities, appreciation events, and wellness programs to promote a positive, inclusive work culture.
Great Culture (Systems Leaders): Cultivate human interest stories across the district for posting on social media, district websites, press releases, internal communications, etc. Write and edit engaging content for various communications platforms, including websites, email, social media, and mobile alerts. Design engaging and branded webpages that provide helpful information to audiences. Act as a brand champion and assist with verifying school apparel adheres to brand guidelines.
Great Systems (Support & Accountability): Manage and maintain district websites to ensure information is accurate, easy to find, and reflects the district’s goals and values. Ensure branding and messaging align with district goals, vision, and mission, and are consistent across platforms (web, print, video). Write and execute communications campaigns for departments, schools, and the district. Serve as the communications liaison for the district\'s departments and schools, coordinating videography, photography, press releases, media advisories, and graphic design needs through project completion. Manage creative printing services/production to ensure projects are completed timely and within budget. Work with and protect sensitive, complex, and confidential information. Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure internal and external messages are clear and aligned across platforms and audiences. Research vendors, request quotes, and coordinate with vendors through project completion. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities)
Bachelor\'s Degree in journalism, communications, public relations, web design or related field.
Four (4) years of relevant experience.
Strong technical and AP style writing experience and creative writing ability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to craft clear, engaging content for various audiences.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of web design and website platforms and best practices.
Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education at a 2:1 ratio. Therefore for every 1 year of college lacking, 2 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Manual dexterity to write and use a computer.
Visual acuity to read and transcribe written material.
Normal hearing and clear speaking abilities.
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; some stooping, bending, and stretching.
Sitting for prolonged periods; may require work outside normal hours including weekends.
Work Environment
Office duties in a well-lighted, climate-controlled environment.
Time in office and at external meeting locations with community partners or schools in the OKC metro area.
Occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Able to bend, stoop, lift 25 lbs, and sit/stand for extended periods.
