Summary of Job Duties
The Work Study/Career Ambassador will support the University Career Services team by promoting events, assisting with career fairs and workshops, and helping maintain the career closet. This role also includes designing promotional materials and managing content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The ideal candidate has basic graphic design skills, is creative and detail-oriented, and is eager to develop their abilities in communication, marketing, and digital content creation. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/ institution policy.
Qualifications
Required Education and/or Experience:
Current UA Little Rock eligible student; Must have proof of award of federal work-study; Eligible to legally work up to 20 hours per week in the United States.
Preferred Education And Experience
Carry a minimum of 8 academic credits and have a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
Represent Career Services positively and professionally; Have a strong work ethic and handle confidential information with discretion.; Create, design, and schedule content for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn; Respond to social media comments and messages in a timely, professional manner; Capture photos and videos at events for social media use; Track engagement metrics and suggest content ideas; Assist with planning, setup, and promotion of career events; Greet attendees, manage registration, and help with event cleanup; Post flyers and share event details across campus; Support the Career Closet organization and inventory; Attend trainings to build skills and stay informed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.); Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and video editing is a plus; Strong written communication skills and attention to detail; Adequate in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint); Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Creative, adaptable, and willing to learn.
