NBC News Digital Video Productions is seeking a seasoned journalist to manage a small team of producers who will create content for NBC News' digital app with a focus on its new subscription product. We're looking for a news junkie who lives across a diverse range of news platforms, can oversee content in a variety of formats, and is especially versed in producing news videos in vertical. Responsibilities

Manage a small team of video creators for original content for the NBC News app Identify key news moments and strategize around how we cover tentpole news events in our existing or new video franchises Maintain overall quality, editorial value, cadence and execution of video and live content Partner with executive producers, editors, correspondents, reporters and network talent to identify stories that are strong for vertical video and help guide on the visual executions Guide the team during breaking news and big events Provide clear and constructive notes on scripts and videos in edit, ensuring that the final product is editorially strong and meets editorial standards Ensure workflow is smooth and fulfilling deadlines, cadence, and programming strategy Maintain a strong pulse on our analytics and performance in order to derive information that can be incorporated into iterating on our strategy Collaborate with the post-production team on graphics and production Continue to experiment and evolve our video franchises, story selection, formats, and visual styles Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant working experience 7 or more years of experience in video production 3 or more years of management experience Experience working on a social or DTC platform Well-versed in deciphering analytics, with ability to provide informed feedback on content performance Adept in producing skills, including pitching, writing, researching, shooting, and editing skills Experience collaborating with anchors, correspondents, reporters, and other stakeholders in the newsroom Experience shooting on professional Sony/Canon camera systems and iPhone Fluency in Adobe Premiere and other post-production tools Flexibility to respond to breaking news situations outside of regular working hours Desired Characteristics

Strong news judgment, leadership, and communication skills Knowledge of current and latest software that can be helpful for workflows Have a creative approach to video storytelling and can experiment with different styles and formats Experienced and effective team leader Fluent in the culture of social media and online communities and what content formats, topics, and styles resonate there Strong editorial judgment and experience collaborating with standards and legal teams Additional Requirements

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Additional Information
