MSNBC . MSNBC is looking for a motivated Senior Producer who thrives in breaking news situations and wants to grow their career by flexing multiple production skills regularly. The team covers breaking news overnight and, when no breaking news is happening, produces taped packages for Morning Joe and best-of highlights from primetime for weekend playback. The role also supports the digital space and helps grow the MSNBC brand. Key Responsibilities
Oversee line producer and production team for breaking news coverage during hours MSNBC is in tape Drive editorial content during breaking news coverage Vet material for air under deadline pressure, including video, graphics and information for anchors Help manage the control room during breaking news and assign production staff Work with segment producers to create live segments Contribute to oversight of original news packages for Morning Joe Aid in assembling taped hours from existing MSNBC shows Deliver taped shows to master control Assist social media team in monitoring and creating social media content Fill in for Executive Producer as needed Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience At least 7 years of experience in live television (e.g., morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV) At least 3 years of control room experience Desired Qualifications
Control room experience is a must; line-producing experience preferred Experience managing a team of producers and leading editorial discussions Experience editing scripts for time, accuracy and storytelling Exceptional editorial skills: identify stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television Strong writing and teasing skills Knowledge of current events, politics and pop culture Strong time management skills Additional Job Requirements
