Overview The Publicist will generate maximum, positive publicity coverage and target appropriate press/media outlets for VERSANT’s entertainment cable networks (Oxygen, E!, USA, and SYFY) and digital platforms (Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes). The Publicist role will report into the VP, Entertainment Communications.

Responsibilities

Act as media strategist, campaign planner and spokesperson for assigned shows

Aid in development and execution of a comprehensive communications campaign to support assigned series and specials, including scripted, unscripted, documentaries and live events

Develop relationships with talent, production partners, PR agencies and representatives, agents, managers, media and programming executives to ensure maximum positive press coverage

Coordinate print and electronic interviews and photo shoots on behalf of assigned series and talent

Generate press materials including ratings and programming releases, series descriptions, loglines, bios, and talking points

Pitch stories to trade and consumer press to support overall series campaigns

Service daily media requests and act as network source of information on programs

Develop, plan and execute events, press junkets and screenings for priority series across each network

Track budgets for assigned series and run point on press schedules and travel itineraries for series talent

Work closely with cross-functional teams to execute overall campaign objectives for network priorities

Staff virtual and in-person press appearances for network talent, executives and series producers

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related industry field

Minimum 2 years of experience in a Communications-related role, preferably in television/entertainment publicity

Superior written and verbal communications skills

Experience pitching, booking and covering national and local media interviews

Effective multi-tasking with the ability to juggle several series in various stages of development

Strategic and critical thinker capable of identifying critical content and talent issues to elevate in a timely manner

Ability to develop interesting and unusual creative ideas to help set the networks apart in the press

Solid organizational/creative skills, detail oriented, collaborative team player

Ability and proven track record working with high-profile talent, talent representatives, producers and executives, as well as positive media relationships

Proactive self-starter with the ability to think big and innovate

Some travel and weekend work required

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.

Salary range: $75,000 - $80,000
