Part Time Real Property Specialist - Real Estate Services

Position summary Position summary:
The Part Time Real Property Specialist will be responsible for coordinating right of way projects.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of contracts, and real estate acquisition related documents
Assist in acquisition negotiations with property owners
Prepare land acquisition forms
Establish current market value of subject land including non-complex appraisal work
Conduct complex negotiations with landowners to secure properties through purchase, donation, or condemnation
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, project estimates, purchase orders, specifications, and drafts contract documents for projects
Conduct complex title research
Serve as a Project Manager on small non-complex right of way projects
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years of related Real Estate Experience
Qualifications Preferred
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and/or related County/City experience in Kentucky
Extensive real estate experience. Familiarity with titles, real estate documents, and legal descriptions
Land use and acquisition courses particularly courses offered by the International Right of Way Association
The ability to negotiate very complex transactions
Complex problem solving skills
Maintain poise under stressful situations
Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills
Real Estates sales and/or current real estate license
BS or BA college degree
Working Conditions Some work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Significant field work (50% or more) is required where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required as needed.
