About PSL Startup Studio and Venture Fund:

startup studio and venture fund , based in Seattle, WA. Over the last decade, PSL has
spun out 42 venture-backed technology companies . PSL’s team consists of both investors and builders, including AI engineers (many of whom are former CTOs of startups) and AI designers, who collectively act as a "Swiss army knife" for startup creation. The firm's core value lies in quickly validating new ideas, building world-class teams around them, funding them, and leveraging its network in the Seattle region to support growth. The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic CTO to lead NewCo from its nascent stage to a thriving, venture-backed company. This is an exceptional opportunity to
shape the future of workflows
by harnessing the power of artificial intelligence. The CTO will be responsible for building the team and contributing code. You will work closely with the CEO and team at PSL, leveraging their deep experience in building and scaling AI-focused technology companies.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a thought leader and strategy driver for the company in tandem with the CEO
Work with customers, business, development, design, and brokerage teams to understand and influence product vision and requirements
Develop and own all technical aspects of StealthCo’s strategy
Translate our strategy into an achievable roadmap and action plan
Help assess the specific skills and qualities needed for a world-class engineering team and the task at hand
Lead by example by being hands-on and actively involved in the development process, including the ability and willingness to write and review production-level code as needed
Budget for, hire and manage a team of developers
Act as a champion for our inclusive values and as a source of mentorship and growth
Provide management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments
Cultivate a sense of customer empathy to continue building an exceptional product
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
5+ years of relevant software engineering experience (including LLM prompting, production SAAS products, distributed cloud services, and exposure to machine learning).
Experience in the following is a plus:
AI engineering
Generative AI product development experience
Context engineering e.g. retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
Familiarity with the current AI foundation model landscape
AI Vision models
Multi-modal data extraction & enrichment
5+ years of team management experience
Problem-solving aptitude
Ability and experience scaling a company
