W3Global 1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Title: Fire Alarm Design Manager / Designer Job Type: Full-Time As a Design Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring all fire alarm and integrated life safety systems meet regulatory standards and client expectations, while mentoring and aligning department processes with industry's best practices. Responsibilities
Design fire alarm systems using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software, in accordance with NFPA 72, NEC, IBC, IFC, and local authority standards. Lead design projects from kickoff through submittal and final approval stages. Interpret building plans, specifications, and customer requirements to produce accurate and efficient system layouts. Work closely with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure seamless transitions from design to implementation. Conduct on-site evaluations as needed to gather field data and validate design feasibility. Manage and mentor junior designers or drafters to uphold quality and consistency across all projects. Serve as a liaison during AHJ reviews, inspections, and meetings. Maintain current knowledge of fire alarm technologies, code changes, and industry best practices. Qualifications
NICET Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems required; Level III or IV preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire alarm system design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or project management role. Strong understanding of NFPA codes, local building/fire codes, and compliance procedures. Proficiency in AutoCAD, and ideally Revit; experience with software like AlarmCAD or similar is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-first attitude. Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with systems from major manufacturers such as Potter Signal & Honeywell products. Familiarity with ERRCS, CCTV, access control & emergency call systems is a plus. Prior experience with jurisdictions in MD, VA, DC, DE, PA is a plus. What We Offer
