— this full-time position provides direct services to victims including crisis counseling, advocacy, and support by delivering service that is trauma-informed, culturally competent, strength-based, and client-directed. Responsibilities
Answer crisis lines and respond to crisis situations, providing information and referral services. Provide advocacy and supportive counseling to victims and their families, both on the crisis line and face-to-face as requested by the client. Perform daily review of cases and follow up with Center staff and advocates to ensure appropriate client follow-up and necessary documentation. Facilitate Sexual Assault Survivor support groups. Assist law enforcement with joint notification of victims as needed. Provide legal advocacy by maintaining close contact with the District Attorney's Office, Victim Witness Office, and all law enforcement agencies. Provide information to sexual assault victims and their families regarding the legal system, Crime Victim's Compensation, and victims' rights. Qualifications
Education
Required: Associate degree or equivalent work experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience
Required: 0-3 years of experience working with sexual assault survivors or similar experience.
Skills, competencies, and other requirements
Strong interest in working with sexual assault victims or child abuse victims. Clarity of expression in presenting both written and verbal material. Commitment to the ethical treatment of clients. Capacity to widen and deepen experience and refine skills in practice. Sexual Assault Center Advocates are required to maintain a 30-minute response time to downtown Green Bay for on-call shifts. Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with reliable personal vehicle; maintain required auto insurance and acceptable driving record.
