Overview
Interior Designer - Hospitality - Senior at Gensler. This role focuses on designing Hospitality spaces, combining creativity with technical delivery for interior architecture and interior design projects. A portfolio showcasing innovative designs is required. The position is in-person and based in the Nashville, Tennessee area. Responsibilities
Visioning and programming for interior design projects, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, shop drawing reviews, code compliance, and construction administration Participate in the selection and documentation of FF&E, color palettes, and decorative lighting Generate finish plans, RCPs, lighting plans, specifications, material selections, and millwork drawings and details Provide design support and documentation during project execution Coordinate with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators Integrate new technology and tools on projects (AR, VR, computational design, etc.) Support design presentations and develop effective client relationships as trusted advisor Support marketing and business development efforts as needed Guide and mentor teammates Manage change orders, value engineering selections, procurement process through installation and project close QA/QC specifications and construction document sets Strive to elevate design quality and foster a culture of design in the office Qualifications
NCIDQ/RID Certification required Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture 10+ years of Hospitality interior design experience Proficient with Revit, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max and other modeling software Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) Extensive knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications for Hospitality projects Extensive knowledge of interior construction documents for hospitality projects Advanced experience with construction administration for hospitality projects Procurement oversight for hospitality projects Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and safety considerations Project management and team leadership/mentorship experience Strong storytelling ability, both verbal and written Strong graphics and visualization skills Demonstrated commitment to sustainability; portfolios with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL, Fitwel, or Net Zero certifications are a plus Submit a current portfolio and/or work samples in PDF format This position is in-person.
