Lighting Designer I

Position Details Location: Bloomington, MN; Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area; Eden Prairie, MN (various locations). Salary range and compensation details are provided in the listing.
Responsibilities
Assist in designing light fixture selections and layouts, lighting controls, and energy efficiency compliance documentation.
Support the preparation of lighting design documents and equipment specifications in accordance with industry standards and codes (e.g., IES Standards, NFPA 70, ASHRAE, IECC).
Contribute to the design of interior, exterior, and landscape lighting systems.
Assist in developing project estimates and schedules.
Collaborate with team members and other disciplines to ensure project success.
Participate in the business development process by contributing to proposal preparation.
Design one or more of the following: light fixture selections and layouts, lighting controls design, layout, sequence and specifications, energy efficiency compliance documentation.
Prepare lighting design documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope of work and ensure application of Lighting Design Principles (e.g., IES Standards, NFPA 70, ASHRAE, IECC codes).
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design.
Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
Minimum 3 years of experience in lighting design or related field.
Experience with lighting design across commercial buildings (government, office, schools).
Proficiency in energy-efficient design within the core discipline.
Knowledge of codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IBC, Life Safety Code).
Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, AGI, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
Basic understanding of architectural, electrical, civil and structural engineering construction practices.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail; ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Preferred: Pursuing LC Certification by the NCQLP; IALD Professional and/or LEED Certification highly preferred.
