The successful Cruise Ambassador is charged with enhancing the customer experience aboard Hornblower’s award-winning dinner cruises, while at the same time having an eye on increasing the on-board per passenger spend. They will direct and assist with the entertainment on the cruise, guiding our passengers through the entire journey from the boarding announcement to a post-dinner address. The Cruise Ambassador will work the crowd, touching every table, getting to know our passengers, and ensuring all their needs are met in a timely fashion. They will introduce key personnel on the boat and make sure everybody is safe and accounted for on the cruise, that things are proceeding according to plan, and will assist our crew as needed. They are the host off fun, safety, and entertainment. Arrive 30 minutes before customers are set to board the cruise Deliver the boarding announcement, establishing their role as host, outlining vessel layout and restricted areas, establishing the order of the day, shove off countdown, last call for packages, and other offers Oversee that all guests are enjoying themselves and have everything that need by touching every table, encouraging interaction and information exchanges, coordinating activities. Drives commercial revenue by informing guests of upsell opportunities, drink offers/packages, merchandise for sale and photos. Communicates with food and beverage team on any special offers we want to present to guests, including any one-off upsell options. Initiate the welcome aboard address, including introductions of the cruise Captain, First Mate, Restaurant Manager, DJ, and other key personnel, making sure all key parties are known and available to our guests as needed Liaise with the DJ throughout the cruise, to add to the entertainment value of the cruise Oversee various contests and activities on the cruise to increase guest engagement levels and encourage movement to the dance floor, the bar, and various outside views throughout the cruise. Deliver the post-dinner address, including a time check, toast the guests, provide discounted offers, thank them for their business, and encourage future patronage Drives other revenue opportunities as they are presented, potentially to include monetizing outdoor seating and/or VIP lounge access. Runs post-cruise reporting to identify on-board revenue generated, from which a per passenger valuation can be established and compared to the benchmark set forth.

Requirements & Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in entertainment, public speaking, hosting events, and/or sales and marketing Travel, hospitality, or transportation experience preferred Have a working knowledge of dinner cruises, including timing, safety, clientele, and business initiatives Experienced with engaging others, love of public speaking, and ability to entertain crowds Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with and influence others without direct reporting lines Must be available at nights for multiple hours and be dependable to show up daily on time or early Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to changing environment
Salary: $25 per hour, plus commission

Requirements & Qualifications
