$51,912.00 - $67,485.60 This position develops, markets and implements outreach initiatives and event programming that enhances Manatee County's arts, culture, and heritage organizations to prospective visitors in the marketplace. Plans and coordinates large scale signature events while actively seeking new opportunities to bring unique experiences to the community. Develops and builds partnerships with non-profits, government organizations and other stake holders. Working Conditions Indoor/Outdoor situation: high noise environment while performing certain responsibilities. Lifting equipment up to 25 lbs. alone; up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Occasional outdoor field work required, possibly in inclement weather. Position requires visual acuity and depth perception as well as the ability to hear and identify sounds. Regularly required to work outside normal business hours. Essential Functions

Sports & Leisure Services: Develop and execute marketing campaigns to promote community events, farmers markets, special programs and County event venues. Design and distribute promotional materials, including flyers, newsletters, press releases, and social media content. Manage and update website and social media channels to ensure timely and accurate information. Manage and update website and social media channels to ensure timely and accurate information. Create and maintain marketing calendars and outreach plans. Coordinate media relations, including submitting event listings and maintaining contact with local communication outlets. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, sponsors, vendors, and local organizations to enhance outreach efforts. Track documentation and invoicing. Assist with planning, organizing, and staffing community events and farmers markets. Support on-site event logistics such as set up, vendor check-in, and customer engagement. Track marketing performance metrics and assist with post-event evaluations. Develop and market Manatee County's activities, services, venues and events. Example of events are signature events, ground-breakings, ribbon cuttings, and open houses to educate and increase the public's awareness of County projects and operations. Develops and integrates plans and programs with County department to achieve department objectives. Assists in the development and implementation of a long-term strategic plan and annual action plans with quarterly milestones; works with the industry stakeholders to pursue the established vision and priorities. Develops effective systems to track progress and regularly evaluate progress to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the industry stakeholders. May develop and manage a web and social media presence for the marketplace with the goal of building awareness of the recreational, arts, culture activities, services, venues, and events in Manatee County. Actively seeks out new opportunities for bringing the recreational, arts, culture, and heritage experience to residents and visitors. Performs other related work (including weather or other extreme emergency duties) as required. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree , relevant to the position, such as Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management or a related field. Minimum of two (2) years related experience

in public relations, marketing, event coordination or a related field. Valid Florida driver's license. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

Knowledge and skill in computer operations and work-related software applications; i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Photoshop, etc. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with diverse groups and committees (public and private). Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, local arts, cultural, heritage organizations and other entities/businesses of the community and beyond. Advanced knowledge of soliciting and securing resources, including fundraising and grant-writing while adhering to the County's policies and procedures. Advanced knowledge of developing, implementing, and managing a budget. Advanced knowledge of marketing and public relations, including social media. Advanced knowledge of event planning and execution. Ability to be entrepreneurial and adaptable; action-oriented and self-directed; energetic and creative with a positive attitude and strong passion for arts, culture, and heritage, and overall group sales. Ability to work independently, as well as a contributing member of a team. Ability to travel.
