Job Title: Public Relations Specialist Department: Public Relations FLSA Status: Non-exempt Reports To: Public Relations Director

Overview Under the direction of the Public Relations Director, the Public Relations Specialist will cultivate a strong industry network, increase awareness, and develop an enviable corporate image by creating and executing effective communication and media relations programs. Also, will maintain the public image of our organization, plan publicity strategies and campaigns, and manage relationships with the media.

Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisor responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and execute PR strategies, campaigns, and initiatives to enhance public perception

Plan and manage publicity strategies, press events, and media outreach

Respond to inquiries from the public, press, and industry organizations

Analyze media coverage and report on campaign effectiveness

Shape and maintain the company’s corporate image and identity

Prepare press releases, speeches, and promotional materials

Coordinate public relations activities, entertainment partnerships, and branded events

Manage brand reputation and ensure consistent messaging across all channels

Build and nurture relationships with journalists, influencers, and media reps

Monitor and communicate PR results quarterly, with actionable insights

Handle crisis communications and mitigate negative press

Collaborate with entertainment acts on ad mats, radio giveaways, and promotional PR

Ensure all communications are engaging, on-brand, and aligned with company values

Education and/or Experience HS Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Journalism, Marketing Public Relations, or related field plus at least 3 years’ experience as a public relations specialist; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a casino public relations environment

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office and Social Media platforms. Familiarity with project management software and video/photo editing is a plus.

Other Qualifications

Strong background in media relations across online, broadcast, and print

Skilled in researching, writing, and editing publications

Outstanding oral and written communication skills

Highly organized and able to thrive under pressure

Existing local media contacts are a strong advantage

Language Skills Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
