Position Summary
This role is for an experienced CNC Programmer and Machinist responsible for programming, setting up, and running CNC machines, including vertical machining centers (VMCs), CNC lathes, and horizontal machines. The machinist will create and optimize CNC programs, oversee setups, and lead day-to-day operations in the machine shop. Experience machining castings is required, along with the ability to deliver precision work in a fast-paced environment. Main Duties & Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (VMCs, CNC lathes, horizontals) for production and custom jobs Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency and accuracy Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to produce parts to required tolerances Perform setups, select tooling, and verify part quality using precision measuring instruments Lead the machine shop team, oversee daily operations, and ensure safety and quality standards are maintained Key Skills

High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical certification preferred. Proven experience as a CNC programmer and machinist with strong knowledge of VMCs, CNC lathes, and horizontals. Experience machining castings is required. Leadership skills to oversee and guide a machine shop team. Ability to troubleshoot programs, setups, and machining issues independently. Must provide and maintain own set of precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges). Location
Position is based 30 miles east of Waco, Texas / 60 miles west of Elkhart, Texas (near Mexia); candidates must be able to commute or relocate as needed. Compensation
Starting hourly pay up to $24/hr with potential for growth based on performance.
