Overview
SquashBridge, a unique athletic, educational, and community center in Bridgeport, will offer an intensive Squash and Education Alliance (SEA) youth development program and serve as a community squash club for local players, families, and schools. The 15,000 square foot facility, currently under construction and scheduled to open in Fall 2025, will boast 8 international squash courts (including 1 outdoor court), classrooms, a library, and offices. About the Position
SquashBridge is seeking a dedicated and energetic
Assistant Squash Coach
to support all aspects of squash programming at our new facility. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Squash Director to deliver high-quality training for students in our SEA after-school program, while also helping run clinics, lessons, and events for the community. This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about youth development, committed to growing the game, and eager to make a positive impact on and off the court. Key Responsibilities
Coach SEA student-athletes in after-school squash programming, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Assist with community squash programming including clinics, camps, and private lessons. Support the planning and execution of tournaments, leagues, and other squash events. Collaborate with the Squash Director, staff, and volunteers to ensure programs are well organized and inclusive. Mentor young players and help create a welcoming and supportive environment for all. Maintain professional standards of safety and care in all squash activities. Qualifications
1–2 years of coaching experience, ideally with junior players. Familiarity with US Squash ratings, rules, and competition structure. Strong communication skills and a passion for working with young people. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by programming. US Squash Level 1 (or higher) coaching certification preferred; CPR/First Aid certification a plus. Working Conditions
Based at the SquashBridge facility at 1691 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT. Additional flexible hours available for clinics, lessons, and community programs (weekday mornings/evenings and weekends). Requires physical activity and a valid driver’s license. Compensation
The base salary is $30,000–$40,000, with additional earning potential from club activities (individual coaching, clinics, tournaments, school and college team roles), estimated at $20,000–$30,000+. Benefits include 20 days of paid time off and health insurance, among other benefits. To Apply
