Overview

The Cornell University Department of Computer Science (CS) in the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science (Bowers) invites applications from outstanding candidates with a passion for undergraduate teaching for a position of Assistant, Associate, or Full Teaching Professor at Cornell’s Ithaca campus. Teaching Professors are non-tenure track teaching faculty members who are hired on multi-year appointments with the expectation of renewal and promotion. Responsibilities

Teach large lower- and upper-level undergraduate and master’s level courses in AI-related fields. Teaching load is typically two courses per semester at 100% effort, with teaching and managing the course staff of large required undergraduate level courses counting as two courses. Play a full and active part in departmental life, including teaching upper-level courses, curriculum design and innovation, advising undergraduate and M.Eng. student projects, mentoring Ph.D. students interested in teaching careers, and participating in wider faculty governance and decision-making. Qualifications

PhD in a computing-related field. Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and innovation. Ability to teach large courses for undergraduate and master’s levels; experience with online or distance learning modes of instruction is valued. Application Process
