Coates Hall## Pay Grade:Academic## Job Description:The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies invites applications for a tenure-track position in Asian Religion and Philosophy, to begin in Fall 2026. We are open to candidates whose work focuses on any East Asian, South Asian, and/or Southeast Asian tradition(s) in any historical era.The successful candidate will have an active record of research and publication, a dedication to undergraduate teaching and mentorship, a commitment to service for the department, college, and university, and a willingness to contribute to a vibrant and collaborative culture. Moreover, the successful candidate will teach two courses per semester (four courses per year)—one general education course (either “Asian Religions” or “Religions of the World”) and one upper- level course in Asian Religions and Philosophy.A Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a relevant specialization is required for appointment to assistant professor. An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check. The deadline for submission is November 15, 2025 but review of applications may continue until the position is filled.
