R2131At ALS, we encourage you to dream big.When you join us, you’ll be part of a global team harnessing the power of scientific testing and data-driven insights to build a healthier future.The **Field Technician 1** will be responsible for performing all sampling duties including ensuring adequate spares and supplies are kept in the sampling vehicle.* Schedule and maintain sampling times of clients.* Sample of client sites in accordance with client requirements, including on-site field analysis where applicable.* Ensure that the quality of work is maintained.* Provide a sample pick-up and delivery service to clients when necessary.* Ensure the appropriate sampling equipment and approved methodology is used to provide a quality service to the clients.* Optimize turnaround times for samples whilst ensuring the highest quality of sampling protocol is achieved and maintained.* Understand methodology changes that affect the operations of sampling.* Ensure the sampling equipment and vehicle provided are kept correctly maintained, as well as clean and tidy.* Maintain client relations.* Investigate options that increase productivity and efficiency through equipment upgrading or new technology.* Prioritize samples on the day of arrival.* Other duties as assigned.* High School Diploma or equivalent is required.* 0–5 years of field services experience is preferred.* OSHA 10-hour General Industry Outreach training card or equivalent is preferred (if none, may be obtained within 90 days of employment at ALS' expense).* Current First Aid certification from a recognized training vendor is preferred (if none, may be obtained within 90 days of employment at ALS' expense).* Proficient verbal and written communication skills.* Team oriented.* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.* Excellent quality service approach and attitude.* Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.* Ability to solve basic problems.* Ability to work efficiently.* Follow all company operating procedures, standards, policies, and training to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the site.* Play an active role in the ALS safety program by correcting or reporting unsafe acts and conditions that are observed during day to day operations to create a zero-injury work environment.* Participate in and support HSE initiatives, as required by ALS leadership.* Understand and use HSE precautions (such as but not limited to PPE) while working with chemicals and samples of unknown hazard.* Perform risk assessments, job hazard analysis, and Take 5's when working offsite.* Exercise good and professional judgement while on client property, and understand that personal safety always takes precedence over collecting samples.* Understand the right to refuse unsafe work, and use discretion in exercising that right.* Ensure business is conducted in accordance with Core Values:* Safety as a Priority* Honesty and Integrity* Exceeding Client Expectations* Belief in Our Ability* Hard Work and Continuous Improvement* Doing it Better* Celebrating Success* People Development* Ensure Quality Systems are adhered to in performance, review, and reporting of laboratory duties and communicate all quality issues.* Support Quality Department and Continuous Improvement Processes.* Employees commit to improving the ALS experience through effective communication.* Current driver’s license.* Subject to annual driving records check; must meet ALS minimum acceptable standards.* Must be able to stand, bend, push, pull, stoop and crouch up to 50% of the time while performing the duties of this position.* Must be able to lift (with both hands) and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move heavier loads with assistance.**Working at ALS**The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
